We’re excited to host a special networking event, Have Your Cake and Eat It Too, right here at ViewPointe on Thursday, February 22nd, from 4:30-5:30PM. In addition to enjoying some sweet treats (which everyone deserves in the middle of winter), visitors will have the chance to meet and mingle with our senior care professionals, including our Executive Director Robyn Parker, RN and our Health Services Director, Katherine Alderman.
We hope you’ll join us and find out more about our mission of inspired service—and what we’re doing to make an impact on our residents, their families, and the community we serve. Here’s a little bit about Katherine, and what she enjoys most about our senior living community.
Ice cream gives Katherine Alderman a feeling of home. Growing up, her dad took her and her brother on regular ice cream outings, and they continue this tradition today whenever they can.
Family means a lot to Katherine, and that’s why she chose to work with ViewPointe Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care in Colorado Springs, where she now serves as Health Services Director.
“We’re a small community. We all work together for the greater good, respect each other’s differences, and come together every day to give our residents the best possible care. We’re a family,” she said.
Katherine takes pride in working at ViewPointe because of “the sense of family and community you feel every single time you walk through the door.”
ViewPointe offers independent living, assisted living and memory care in a warm, welcoming environment—complete with social spaces and cozy private apartments. Every day, Katherine and the rest of the staff strive to live out the organization’s mission of “inspired service.”
“For me, that means being present every single day. The residents are what matter, the rest can wait,” she said. “Every day brings a new challenge, an opportunity for growth, and a chance to ask myself what could be done differently to make the resident’s experience the best possible.”
Though Katherine is still in her first year at ViewPointe, she was drawn to her role as a director to be part of something bigger. “I knew it was where I was meant to be.”
Katherine looks forward to seeing you at our “Have Your Cake and Eat It Too” networking event, a celebration of desserts and a chance to mingle with area senior living professionals. She’ll be the one with ice cream!
